Description

Ladies and gentlemen, Muhoozi’s camp is becoming ridiculous. A young man from northern Uganda went on social media and declared that Muhoozi would never become President, saying he was tired of him. What followed, according to accounts surrounding a circulating video, was a mob-style beating. So in Uganda, is criticising Muhoozi now answered with fists instead of arguments and the rule of law? Several individuals have been identified online in connection with the incident: Tonny Kitara — PLU coordinator, Gulu City Alimocan Stella (Otangalo) — PLU member Ayella Geofrey (Jiji) — PLU publicity officer, Gulu City DeBen Festo (Lakwed TV) — blogger Aleng Fatuma — PLU Ghetto leader No political ambition gives anyone the right to assault a citizen for expressing an opinion. Criticism deserves a response—not a beating.
