Today's Catholic Mass Readings — Friday, October 16, 2026 | Gospel Reflection

Daily Mass Readings and Gospel Reflection for Friday, October 16, 2026 | Friday of the Twenty-Eighth Week in Ordinary Time. In today’s Gospel, Jesus warns His disciples against the “yeast” of hypocrisy and calls them to live truthfully before God rather than under the tyranny of human opinion. This reflection invites us to distinguish weakness from hypocrisy, worldly fear from holy fear, and anxiety from trust in divine providence. Nothing in our lives is hidden from the Father, yet the One who knows every secret also knows every hair on our heads and tells us, “Do not be afraid.” In the light of Saint Paul’s teaching in Ephesians, we are reminded that our deepest identity does not come from reputation or success, but from belonging to Christ and being sealed with the Holy Spirit. ► Full Gospel listening: https://youtu.be/sLweLH9WaLk ► Timestamps: 00:00 Preface 00:22 First Reading 01:10 Gospel Reading 02:22 Gospel Reflection 20:01 Prayer 21:16 Closing Message 🕊️ May the Word of God guide your steps today.
