12 Home Depot Items to Grab Before the Super El Niño Rains (All Under $20)

NOAA's latest odds give better than an eight-in-ten chance of a strong to very strong El Niño this winter. In most past El Niño winters, that pattern has meant a wetter, stormier season along the Gulf Coast and across the southern U.S. And just one inch of water inside a home can do serious damage. Harlan counts down 12 Home Depot items, every one under $20, that keep rain and floodwater out of your house or help you get it out fast. From a five-gallon bucket, headlamps and a battery water alarm to a basement drain plug, sandbags filled the right way, and the cheap fix from the gutter aisle that beats them all. Plus the flood and generator safety rules every older homeowner should know. Which of these 12 do you already have at home? #ElNino #floodprep #homedepot
