Description

🔥 This historic British Columbia hotel survived fire, tragedy, and more than 125 years of history. Originally opened as the Commercial Hotel, Midway in 1900, the original building burned shortly after. A new hotel was built in its place before tragedy struck again in 1908 with the death of owner Charles Thomet. Thanks to Bertha Thomet, the hotel's story continued. Today, Hotel Midway remains one of BC's historic landmarks and continues welcoming visitors today. 📍 Midway, British Columbia, Canada Historic Photo Credits: Kettle River Museum; Royal BC Museum and Archives; BC Archives Current Footage: Tracks, Trails & Forgotten Tales #shorts #history #bchistory #hotelmidway #midwaybc #historichotel #canadianhistory #travelbc #explorebc #heritage #trackstrailsforgottentales Now streaming on: 🎥 YouTube – full video episodes & highlights 🎙 Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, iHeartRadio & Apple Podcasts – audio episodes on the go. 📍 What to expect: Ghost towns like Phoenix, Sandon & Greenwood The historic Kettle Valley Railway Abandoned mines, smelters & pioneer trails 👉 Don’t forget to subscribe, like, and hit the bell 🔔 to join us on every journey into the past.
