One counts. One hides. When the seeker follows the game down to the open basement door, something at the bottom of the stairs answers in her sister's voice, and it already knows every rule of hide and seek. This is the second film set in the Mimic world, built around a voice-copying creature from folklore that imitates the people we trust in order to get close. If you grew up on stories about a doppelganger, a skinwalker, a changeling, or anything that wears a familiar face and sounds exactly like family, this scary short film sits in that same tradition. The safest voice in a house is usually the first one copied. I want to know if you would watch a whole series of these. The Mimic world has more corners than a single film can hold, and if there is an audience for it, I will keep building it out. Tell me in the comments whether you want more Mimic short films.
