Description

On the Day of Judgment, four kinds of people will stand before Allah سبحانه وتعالى with an argument almost no one else in that gathering can make: a deaf man, a man without sound mind, a very old man, and a man who died in the fatrah, the long interval between the Prophets عليهم السلام. We know that none enters Paradise except a Muslim soul. We also know that Allah سبحانه وتعالى does not punish anyone until a messenger has come to him. So what happens to the person the message never truly reached? In this video, we follow an authentic hadith narrated by Al-Aswad ibn Sari' رضي الله عنه. It describes the plea each of these four will make, the covenant Allah سبحانه وتعالى takes from them, and the command that sounds like punishment but becomes the door to salvation for whoever obeys it. In this video: The announcement Bilal رضي الله عنه made by the command of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم The principle of Surah Al-Isra 17:15: no punishment before a messenger The fatrah between 'Isa عليه السلام and Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم The four who will present their argument on the Day of Resurrection The test, and the oath of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم about what they will find How Ahl al-Sunnah scholars understood the people of the fatrah, and whether their ruling can apply today Why this hadith is not a loophole, and what it means for those the message has reached CHAPTERS 00:00 Four people with an argument 01:27 The man the message never reached 02:03 Two truths: Bilal's announcement and Al-Isra 17:15 04:43 The fatrah: six centuries without a messenger 08:10 The four pleas 12:40 The covenant and the command 14:27 "Cool and safe" 15:55 How the scholars understood it 17:16 Does this apply today? 19:46 The message has reached us REFERENCES: Qur'an Surah Al-Isra 17:15 Surah An-Nisa 4:165 Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:19 Surah Al-Mulk 67:8–9 Hadith "None enters Paradise except a Muslim soul," announced by Bilal رضي الله عنه by the command of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Hadith are cited with their source and grading. Scholarly explanations are presented as the understanding of the scholars. The scholars differed over the ruling on the people of the fatrah. This video presents the view that they will be tested on the Day of Resurrection, which is supported by these narrations and held by many scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah. And Allah سبحانه وتعالى knows best. Had you heard of these four before today? Tell us in the comments.
