Description

The Ruby Battee cold case remained unsolved for 40 years until DNA evidence linked a convicted murderer to her 1986 killing in Dallas, Texas. In May 2026, investigators used modern forensic DNA testing and the CODIS database to identify Marvin Lee Holloway as a suspect. But detectives discovered something unexpected—Holloway was already serving a life sentence for another murder. Evidence preserved for four decades had finally produced a breakthrough. Holloway was subsequently charged with capital murder in Ruby Battee's death. How many other cold cases could be solved using DNA evidence already sitting in storage? #truecrimedocumentary #coldcase #dnaevidence Subscribe to Caught By Forensics for more true crime stories, forensic breakthroughs, and cold case investigations.
