The Ugly Downfall of Alejandro Garnacho

Three years ago, 50,000 people at Old Trafford were singing Alejandro Garnacho's name like he was the next Ronaldo. A Puskás Award winner at 19. A bicycle kick that stopped the football world. A Copa América trophy alongside Messi. Today, at 22, he's trying to prove he deserves a place in Unai Emery's Aston Villa squad. This is the ugly downfall of Alejandro Garnacho. From academy wonderkid, to the tunnel walkout and the bench snubs under Amorim, to a £40 million move to Chelsea that never worked, to being left out of Argentina's World Cup squad entirely — and a loan to Villa that was really Chelsea admitting a mistake. His career didn't collapse because the talent disappeared. It's still there. The question the whole story keeps asking is whether he could handle everything that came with it. The talent opened the door. His decisions showed him the exit.
