📗 Save Over $1,000 on Meat With My Butcher’s Money-Saving Methods: salpetralia.com
That $1.99-a-pound rack of beef back ribs at the club looks like a steal until you weigh the meat off it. Most of what you carried home is bone. Here is how a retired butcher reads the rib cooler so you buy meat, not frame.
In this video, I show you how to read the warehouse-club rib cooler:
Why beef back ribs are mostly bone once the ribeye is lifted off the top
The one word on the label, "solution added," that means you are paying rib prices for salt water
Baby backs vs spare ribs vs St. Louis, and which one is the real value
How to pull the membrane yourself in ten seconds, free
The honest-pound math: cheap beef ribs cost more per pound of meat than the plain pork slab
This is not anti-Costco. The plain cryovac racks at the club are a genuine bargain, better than most butcher counters can touch. If a seasoned rack on a Tuesday is the only way ribs happen in a busy house, buy it and enjoy it. USDA says cook whole-muscle pork to 145 degrees with a three-minute rest; most folks take ribs well past that for tenderness.

What does a plain rack of pork spare ribs cost per pound at your club, and what town are you in? I read every one of these.
One cooler: skip the beef backs and the seasoned packs, take the plain spare ribs.
