What Jose Mourinho Should Learn from Luis Enrique

José Mourinho and Luis Enrique have both managed the biggest egos in football. Right now, their legacies couldn't be further apart. Enrique walked into PSG's dressing room — Neymar, Mbappé, Messi, half a billion euros, zero Champions Leagues — and broke it. He froze out Neymar. He benched Mbappé. He refused to bend. Then he won back-to-back Champions Leagues without any of them. Mourinho has just inherited a squad that won nothing last season, full of players who were superstars before they'd achieved anything. He built his whole reputation on controlling the uncontrollable — but the old generation earned their egos through suffering. This one was handed theirs. Enrique's method was simple: break the ego first, build the team second, win the trophies third. The question is whether Mourinho will do the same — or whether this generation breaks him first.
