Description

An emerald tree boa opening its mouth reveals the unusually long teeth behind its striking green appearance. These nonvenomous snakes use their teeth to grasp prey before subduing it through constriction. Their backward-curving teeth help prevent a captured animal from slipping free. Unlike venom-injecting fangs, these teeth work as gripping tools. Emerald tree boas live in South American rainforests, where they spend much of their time coiled around branches. Their muscular bodies and gripping tails support life above the forest floor, while their green colouring helps them blend into foliage. #animals #wildlife #nature #natureholic #EmeraldTreeBoa #SnakeFacts Nature, wildlife, animals, animal facts, wildlife facts, nature facts, animal behaviour, animal behavior, animal kingdom, animal adaptations, biodiversity, natural world, wildlife encounters, nature shorts, emerald tree boa, snake yawning, snake teeth, nonvenomous snakes, boa constriction, rainforest reptiles
