How Nasal Stones Block a Parrot’s Nostrils #animals #shorts

A large nasal blockage is removed from an African grey parrot’s nostril. Birds can develop hardened nasal masses called rhinoliths, which can obstruct the nasal passage and occur alongside chronic nasal inflammation. Signs of nasal problems in parrots include repeated sneezing, discharge, noisy breathing and changes in the shape of the nostrils. An avian veterinarian can examine the blockage and investigate underlying causes, including infection or nutritional problems. Removing the obstruction is only part of treatment. Identifying and addressing the cause helps protect the bird’s respiratory health and reduce further problems. Nasal blockages require veterinary care because the surrounding tissues are delicate. #animals #wildlife #nature #natureholic #AfricanGrey #ParrotHealth Nature, wildlife, animals, animal facts, wildlife facts, nature facts, animal behaviour, animal behavior, animal kingdom, animal adaptations, biodiversity, natural world, wildlife encounters, nature shorts, African grey parrot, parrot health, nasal stone, rhinolith, bird breathing, avian veterinary care
