Today we’re making a beautiful and delicious Cookie Tin filled with buttery, crispy and melt-in-the-mouth chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, with a delicious chocolatey centre. The best part is that you can arrange them beautifully in a cookie tin, serve them with tea or coffee, or even gift them to your family and friends. They look bakery-style, taste absolutely amazing, and are so easy to make at home. So let’s get started! Ingredients Salted butter – 80 g / ⅓ cup, room temperature Powdered white sugar – ¼ cup / 4 tbsp Brown sugar – ½ cup / 60 g or normal powdered white sugar Milk – ¼ cup, room temperature ( 60 ml ) All-purpose flour (maida) – 1½ cups / 180–190 g Baking soda – ¼ tsp Baking powder – ¾ tsp Vanilla essence – 1 tsp Chocolate chips – ½ cup / approx. 100 g Dark chocolate – approx. 10 g per cookie for filling Baking Oven temperature: 170°C Preheating: 10 minutes Baking time: 12–15 minutes Mode: Top & bottom rods + fan Bake until lightly golden brown. Do not over-bake. Servings Approximately 8–10 large cookies, depending on the size of the cookie tin and cookie balls. Important Tips Butter and milk should be at room temperature. Whisk butter and sugars for 6–8 minutes until light and creamy. Do not overmix after adding flour. If the dough feels too loose, add 1–2 tbsp flour as needed. Freeze the shaped cookie balls for 10 minutes before baking. Do not make the cookies too dark; they should be lightly golden brown. Allow cookies to cool completely before covering or packing, otherwise they can become soggy. Store leftovers in the refrigerator and lightly microwave before serving. Cookie Tin on Gas Stove – Baking Instructions 🍪 Gas Stove Settings: Preheating: 10 minutes Flame: Low Baking Time: 25–35 minutes (approximately) Method Take a heavy-bottomed kadhai or deep cooking pot. Place a stand or ring inside the kadhai. Cover with a lid and preheat on medium flame for 10 minutes. Prepare the cookie dough and shape the balls as shown in the recipe. Spread the plain cookie dough evenly at the bottom of an aluminium cake tin. Arrange the chocolate-filled cookie balls on top. Carefully place the tin on the stand inside the preheated kadhai. Cover with a lid and bake on low flame for approximately 25–35 minutes. Check after 20–25 minutes. The cookies should have a lightly golden-brown colour. Once baked, remove the tin carefully and allow the cookies to cool for 15–20 minutes. Important Tips Use an aluminium cake tin, not a dark-coloured tin. Do not place the tin directly on the bottom of the kadhai. Always bake on low flame to prevent burning. Avoid opening the lid frequently. Baking time may vary depending on your kadhai and gas flame. Do not overbake. The cookies will become firmer as they cool. Allow the cookies to reach room temperature before covering or packing them. Suggested Starting Point: Low flame for 25–30 minutes, checking the colour and texture.
