Description

Original Video Credit: @asnufuelinjection Interesting facts, fascinating facts, science, technology, engineering, and amazing discoveries can be found in the smallest parts of everyday machines. These are piezo fuel injectors, tiny components used in some car engines to spray fuel into the engine. The injectors shown here are BMW Siemens piezo GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) injectors, designed to deliver a very precise amount of fuel at exactly the right time. Think of a fuel injector like a tiny, super-fast spray bottle. When the engine needs fuel, the car’s computer sends an electrical signal to the injector. Inside, a piezoelectric element reacts to that signal and moves the injector valve extremely quickly, allowing fuel to spray through a very small opening. The advantage of piezo injectors is that they can respond extremely quickly and control fuel delivery very precisely. This helps the engine manage fuel more efficiently, maintain good performance, and control emissions. In this video, the injectors are being tested in a clear test chamber. The fuel spray is made visible so technicians can examine the spray pattern, consistency, and delivery of each injector. If an injector is clogged, leaking, spraying unevenly, or delivering a different amount of fuel than it should, the test can help reveal the problem. In simple terms, these tiny injectors are responsible for feeding the engine the right amount of fuel, and this test checks whether they are spraying it correctly. This video is shared for educational purposes to show how automotive fuel-injection technology works.
