She had been staying in the 900 block of 4th Street in De Soto and was last seen walking toward a local gas station where she typically caught rides. But Emily never made it to her children. Days later, her family realized no one had heard from her, and her mother reported her missing to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. For months, family, friends, and search teams looked for answers. Then, on September 28, 2024, human skeletal remains were found in a wooded area near the 4100 block of Frissell Road in De Soto, just over a mile from where Emily had last been seen. Dental records confirmed the remains belonged to Emily. Because of the condition of her remains, her cause of death could not be determined.
