Description

Open your refrigerator and look at the bins in the door. They were white once. You've scrubbed them and they stayed exactly the same. Here's what nobody tells you: most of what you're looking at isn't yellowed plastic at all. It's a coating sitting on top of white plastic, and it comes off completely with something already under your sink. There's a 30-second test that tells you which problem you have. Damp white cloth, one drop of dish soap, rub one small spot for fifteen seconds. Three things can happen, and each one means something completely different — including one that means your appliance was never white to begin with. I'll also show you the hydrogen peroxide method for plastic that has genuinely aged, and then tell you the part almost nobody mentions: a ten-year test found treated plastic yellowed FASTER than the untreated piece sitting right next to it. What's covered: - The 30-second test and what all 3 results mean - Where cooking grease film hides worst in a kitchen - Why an all-purpose spray never touches it, and what does - The baking soda paste for the tacky spots by the stove - Why plastic ages when glass and enamel don't (bromine and UV) - The shadow line that proves it's sun damage, not dirt - The peroxide and sunlight method, step by step - The 10-year finding that changes whether you should use it - Which items to treat and which to leave alone - Almond and bisque — the appliances that were never white - White cutting boards, and when one is finished for good Your one job this week: do the test on the worst thing in your kitchen. One small spot. Then come tell me in the comments which of the three you got — film, plastic, or almond.
