Description

More than 2,300 years ago, chambers were carved into solid granite in Bihar, India. The Barabar Caves include caves commissioned during the reign of Emperor Ashoka in the third century BCE. Their interiors are known for their exceptionally smooth, polished granite surfaces and distinctive acoustics. Archaeologists associate several of these caves with the Ajivikas, an ancient religious movement that later disappeared. The Barabar Caves are a remarkable surviving example of ancient Indian rock-cut architecture and craftsmanship. #IndianHistory #BarabarCaves #AncientIndia #Ashoka #Archaeology #HistoryShorts #TheForgottenPast
