Description

I've stood behind a seafood counter for 36 years, and I'll let you in on something. The fish I take home for my own family isn't the $18 salmon everybody reaches for. It's a $4 fish sitting in the freezer case that nobody stops at. In this one I show you what's actually in it, why it's cheap (hint: it's not because it's worse for you), and the one word on the label you have to read before you buy it — because that same word is hiding three completely different fish, and one of them you should never eat. Then I'll show you how to pick a good one at the counter, why "previously frozen" isn't the downgrade you think it is, and the old dock trick for cooking it so it comes out crisp and clean instead of fishy and mushy. New video every week. Subscribe so you catch the next one — I'm going to stand in front of the "fresh" case and show you why most of it was thawed out of a box that morning. DISCLAIMER: I'm a fishmonger, not a doctor or a dietitian. This is general information from behind the counter, not medical advice. Nutrition numbers vary by season and by fish. If you're pregnant, nursing, feeding young kids, or have a health condition, follow the current FDA/EPA guidance and talk to your doctor. #fishmonger #seafood #mackerel #groceryhaul #salmon #healthyeating #fishtok
