Description

I've unpacked the truck at a seafood counter for 36 years, so let me tell you a little secret about that pretty "fresh" case everybody trusts. Most of what's laid out on that ice got here frozen, thawed in the back that morning, and set out under the lights to look fresh for you. It's not fresher than the bag in the freezer aisle. A lot of the time it's older. In this one I'll show you what "fresh" really means at the counter, why frozen-at-sea fish is often the better buy, how to read the bag so you don't get fooled, and the simple way I thaw fish at home so it comes out firm and clean instead of mushy and wet. Save your money and stop paying extra for the word "fresh." Tell me in the comments what your store's fish counter looks like — and whether they'll admit it was previously frozen when you ask. I read every one. New video every week. Independent channel, not medical advice. #fishmonger #seafood #frozenfish #groceryhaul #howtobuyfish #seafoodtips #costco
