This morning devotional walks through three truths for the grieving heart. First, the Lord draws near to your broken heart: He counts every tear (Psalm 56:8), He wept at the tomb of Lazarus even though He knew the miracle was minutes away (John 11:35), and He has borne our griefs (Isaiah 53:4). Second, you can let God hold you when you cannot stand, as He gathers the lambs in His arms (Isaiah 40:11), as He refilled David at Ziklag (1 Samuel 30:4-6), and as He promises to carry you even to gray hairs (Isaiah 46:4). Third, grief will not have the final word, because we do not sorrow as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). From Jacob's long sorrow over Joseph (Genesis 37:35) to the day God wipes away every tear (Revelation 21:4), goodbye is never forever for those who belong to Christ. Stay to the end for a blessed prayer over your grieving heart, your family, your provision, your healing and your peace, in the mighty name of Jesus.
