First, courage is given before it is felt: Joshua stood alone at the front after Moses died, and God attached one promise to His command, "I am with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9; Deuteronomy 31:6; Isaiah 41:10). Second, the strengthening happens in the waiting: David ties courage to waiting on the Lord, and Esther's three days on her knees changed her before they changed the king (Psalm 27:14; Psalm 31:24; Esther 4:16). Third, courage is a command, not a feeling: Nehemiah prayed in the breath between the king's question and his own answer (Nehemiah 2:4; 2 Timothy 1:7). You will also hear why God had to say "be strong and of good courage" three times to the same man. Stay to the end for a blessed prayer over your week, every meeting, every appointment and every hard conversation, your family, your provision, your healing and your breakthrough, in the mighty name of Jesus.
