Description
It's official: the 2027 Social Security raise (COLA) is 3.6% β the biggest raise in four years. Social Security announced it on October 14, 2026. The average retired worker's check goes from $2,095 to about $2,170 (+$75 a month), and SSI goes up to $1,029 a month. But that's not what will land in your bank in January. In this video I show you how to work out your own 2027 raise in 10 seconds ($36 for every $1,000 of your check), why Medicare Part B comes out first, why prices (up 3.7%) are still a little ahead of the raise, who gets a different amount (SSI, IRMAA, tax withholding), the January 2027 payment dates, and the December 31 payment that is NOT a bonus.
