Description

Have you ever wondered how to make homemade butter? You won’t believe how easy it is! With just heavy cream, a little salt, and your stand mixer, you can turn cream into rich, creamy homemade butter right in your own kitchen. There’s something pretty special about making an old-fashioned staple from scratch. And the best part? You don’t need any fancy equipment — just a stand mixer and a couple of simple ingredients. In this video, we’ll show you how to make homemade butter in a stand mixer, including exactly when to increase the mixer speed and how to tell when the butter has separated from the buttermilk. 🧈 Ingredients * Heavy cream * Salt, to taste 👩‍🍳 How to Make Homemade Butter in a Stand Mixer 1. Pour the heavy cream into the cold bowl of your stand mixer. Use the whisk attachment and make sure you have plenty of room in the bowl — the cream will expand as it whips. 2. Start the mixer on LOW speed (Speed 4) and mix until the cream begins to thicken. 3. Increase to MEDIUM speed (Speed 8) and continue whipping. The cream will first become whipped cream. 4. Once you’ve reached whipped-cream consistency, turn the mixer up to HIGH speed (Speed 10). 5. Keep mixing. The cream will eventually break — you’ll see the yellow butter separate from the liquid buttermilk. Don’t stop when it looks like whipped cream; keep going until the butter separates. 6. Turn the mixer off and squeeze the butter to remove the buttermilk. 7. Rinse the butter with very cold water, gently working and pressing the butter until the water runs mostly clear. This helps remove remaining buttermilk and keeps your butter fresher. 8. Press out as much water as possible, then add salt to taste and mix it into the butter. 9. Shape your homemade butter, refrigerate it, and enjoy! And there you have it — homemade butter made the old-fashioned way with just cream and salt! 🛒 Shop our Back Porch Cooking favorites: Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/shop/backporchcookinandreminiscin Etsy: https://www
