Description

I was sixty-five in 1987, and I've had thirty-nine more years since then to see exactly what I wasted them on. Here's what nobody tells you about sixty-five: you think you're near the end of the story. You're not. If you're sixty-five today you may well have twenty, thirty, even forty more years ahead of you — longer than it took to raise a child from a baby into a grown adult. But you only get to spend those years once, and I spent a good many of mine on five things that gave me nothing back at all. In this video I share the five things I would cut ruthlessly if you set me back down at sixty-five: the people who leave you heavier than they found you and the simple test that tells you who they are, the obligations you keep saying yes to purely out of guilt (and the arithmetic that shows what one small monthly commitment really costs you over twenty-five years), the decades I wasted worrying about what people thought of me when almost nobody was thinking about me at all, the grudges you genuinely cannot afford the storage on anymore, and the waiting for a better time that never once arrives — because waiting is a habit, not a schedule, and it follows you straight into your seventies unless you break it deliberately. And I won't leave you with an empty calendar and no notion what to fill it with. I'll tell you exactly what I'd keep instead, and what all that reclaimed time is actually for. I didn't cut these at sixty-five. I cut most of them at eighty, and I've regretted the fifteen years in between ever since. Sixty-five is the narrow window where you finally know what matters and still have the time and freedom to act on it — at thirty you had the time but not the wisdom, at ninety you'll have the wisdom but less of the time. Don't waste that window being polite to things that don't deserve it. Subscribe for more honest wisdom from a long life fully lived. Real stories. Real advice. No filters. No regrets left unspoken. Leave a comment and tell me — which one would you cut first? And if you're already past sixty-five, what did you cut that you wish you'd cut sooner? I read every comment and love hearing your stories. #lifeadvice #lifelessons #over60 #over65 #retirement #boundaries #simpleliving #aging #over100 #wisdom #centenarian ABOUT this Channel This channel features honest conversations with people over 60 sharing their biggest mistakes, deepest regrets, and most powerful life lessons.
