Description

📗 Save $2,000 A Year On Whiskey With My Distiller Methods: https://wadecooperdistiller.com You walk into a Virginia ABC store on a Friday afternoon and go straight to the Wild Turkey 101, 27 dollars and 99 cents. Eighteen inches to the left stands the same bird, the same 101, the same 27 dollars and 99 cents, and one word is different: rye. I have made both, and the one that cost the distillery more to put in the bottle is not the bourbon. So this is seven ryes, counting down to number one, each one standing next to the bourbon from the same house at the same price or within a couple of dollars, and every one of them under 37 dollars. For each bottle you get the price, the recipe and the proof, and what rye does in a fermenter and a still that nobody prints on a label. Along the way: the two kinds of rye on the shelf, the one near 51 percent that drinks like your bourbon with more backbone and the one near 95 that drinks like nothing else in the store; why a rye that gives less and fights back more sells at the easier whiskey's price; and a man with a stern face on the front of a bottle and a state on the back that tells you where it was really made. Number one is a bonded rye for 26 dollars and 99 cents. Turn it around and there are two plant numbers in small type that a bonded bottle is required by law to print. I show you where they are, what they said for about ten years after a fire that nobody noticed, and why that changed which rye I buy. Your homework costs nothing: find the bourbon you always buy, find the rye from the same company, read both fronts and both backs, then pour an inch of each into two glasses the same shape and decide for yourself. I spent 34 years in this industry making whiskey and looking after it, and a good part of those years filling barrels that went out under other people's names, rye among them. Nobody paid me to say any of this. No company sent me a bottle, no link, no code, and nothing for sale.
