Description
In 1898, Italian photographer Secondo Pia photographed the Shroud of Turin — and what appeared on the photographic negative stunned him.
The faint image on the ancient linen suddenly revealed the remarkably clear face and wounds of a crucified man.
That photograph helped launch more than a century of scientific investigation, historical debate, accusations of forgery, and questions that researchers are still investigating today.
Is the Shroud of Turin a medieval artifact — or could it really be connected to the burial of Jesus Christ?
▶️ Watch our full 14-minute investigation into the history, science, carbon dating, DNA evidence, and enduring mystery of the Shroud of Turin.
