Description
There’s nothing quite like a big bowl of homemade chicken and dumplings — but what if I told you that you can make them in the crockpot using canned biscuits for the dumplings? 👀
That’s exactly what we’re doing today!
This Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings recipe is pure comfort food: tender chicken, creamy savory broth, and soft, delicious biscuit dumplings that come together with a whole lot less fuss than traditional dumplings.
If you love easy, old-fashioned comfort food, you’ve got to give this one a try!
And be sure to stick around to see how those canned biscuits turn into dumplings. You might be surprised at just how good they are!

Ingredients
1 bag (about 16-22 oz) frozen grilled chicken pieces
1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury Grands! Flaky Layers Buttermilk Biscuits
2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup
3 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup diced yellow onion (optional)
1 tsp poultry seasoning (or a mix of thyme and sage)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup frozen peas or mixed vegetables (optional)
Instructions
1. Mix the base: In your crockpot, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, diced onion, poultry seasoning, and black pepper until smooth.
2. Add the chicken: Stir in the frozen grilled chicken pieces. Since the chicken is already fully cooked, you are just heating it through and letting the flavors meld.
3. Cook the base: Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
4. Prep the dumplings: About 1 hour before you are ready to eat, pop open the can of Grands biscuits. Cut each biscuit into 6 to 8 small pieces. (Flattening them slightly before cutting helps them cook
