Description

In today’s episode of Southern Girl Crime Stories, we cover 1 solved and 2 unsolved true crime cases from New York and Indiana. From Nancy Smith’s murder finally being solved nearly 25 years later, to Brandy Wilson’s disappearance after a chilling warning, to Jennifer “Jenny” Stockrahm’s unsolved murder in a burning car… these cases left families searching for truth, justice, and answers. 🔎 Featured Cases: 🕵 Nancy Smith — New Windsor, New York On December 5, 2001, 32-year-old Nancy Smith failed to show up for work at Horton Hospital in Middletown, New York. When her parents went to check on her, they found her murdered inside her New Windsor home. There were no signs of forced entry, suggesting Nancy may have known her killer. For nearly 25 years, her case remained unsolved, until advanced DNA testing on a single strand of hair led investigators to Robert Young, a musician living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Young denied involvement, but after investigators confirmed the DNA match, he died by suicide before he could face charges. On May 28, 2026, police announced Nancy’s case had finally been solved. 🕵 Brandy Wilson — Colfax, Indiana On June 4, 2002, 24-year-old Brandy Wilson vanished from her rural home in Colfax, Indiana. Her husband, Kenny, said she was home when he went to sleep that morning, but when he woke up, Brandy was gone. Her purse, both family vehicles, and her wedding rings were left behind. Before she disappeared, Brandy reportedly told a coworker that if she didn’t show up for work the next day, Kenny had done something to her. More than 20 years later, no arrest has been made, and Brandy remains missing. 🕵 Jennifer “Jenny” Stockrahm — Harmony, Indiana On February 12, 1997, a maroon 1988 Ford Escort was found burning in an alley behind the home of Joan Stockrahm in Harmony, Indiana. Inside was Joan’s 21-year-old daughter, Jennifer Stockrahm, known as Jenny. Police first suggested Jenny may have taken her own life, but an autopsy revealed she
