Free by email. On 30 September 2026, flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv dropped more than 14,000 feet in under 30 seconds over Saudi Arabia. Inside the cockpit, Captain Smit Machchhar had been attacked by his own co-pilot. This is a second-by-second 3D reconstruction of what happened behind the cockpit door, how passengers and two off-duty pilots took back control, and what investigators have found so far. Built on official statements (UAE Attorney-General, Saudi Interior Ministry, flydubai, GCAA, IDF), flight-tracking data (Flightradar24, AirNav Radar via AP) and the published accounts of the captain and passengers. The investigation is ongoing; no charges have been announced and the co-pilot has not been officially named. He is presumed innocent.
