THE RUNNER: Gal Gadot’s Worst Movie Yet?

Is Amazon Prime becoming the five-dollar DVD bargain bin of streaming services? The Runner, starring Gal Gadot and directed by Kevin Macdonald, is the latest straight-to-streaming action thriller from Amazon — and somehow, a movie about a mother being forced to run across London to save her kidnapped son manages to be incredibly boring. The concept sounds like a perfect recipe for a tense, fast-paced thriller: a ticking clock, a mysterious caller, a kidnapped child, and a protagonist who literally can't stop running. Instead, The Runner delivers questionable character decisions, awkward dialogue, bizarre action, frantic editing, forgettable filmmaking, and a terrible performance from Gal Gadot. In this video, I explain why The Runner might be one of the worst and most forgettable movies of 2026 and why it feels less like a movie and more like disposable streaming content. Is Amazon Prime turning into the bargain bin of streaming services? And how did the director of The Last King of Scotland end up making THIS?
