Description

THE SOCIAL RECKONING is the long-awaited follow-up to David Fincher's THE SOCIAL NETWORK. Sixteen years after The Social Network, Aaron Sorkin returns to the world of Facebook, this time as both writer and director. Starring Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, the film explores the Facebook whistleblower scandal, leaked internal documents, misinformation, and the dangerous influence of social media on modern society. The subject matter is fascinating, the performances are solid, and Sorkin still knows how to write snappy dialogue. But something important is missing. In this video, I discuss why David Fincher's direction made the original film so special, where Sorkin's approach falls short, Jeremy Strong's portrayal of Zuckerberg, and why a movie about one of the most troubling technological developments of our time feels surprisingly safe. Is The Social Reckoning a worthy companion to The Social Network, or a disappointing follow-up to a modern classic? Let me know what you thought in the comments, and thank you for watching. #TheSocialReckoning #TheSocialNetwork #MovieReview
