Description

The new Street Fighter has the characters, the costumes, the signature moves, and all the over-the-top action you'd expect from a big-budget adaptation of Capcom's iconic video games. So why is it such a boring non-movie?! Directed by Kitao Sakurai and starring Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Callina Liang, and David Dastmalchian, the new Street Fighter fully embraces the colourful ridiculousness of the games. Unfortunately, visual faithfulness can only take you so far. In this video, I discuss the film's non-existent narrative, chaotic editing, inconsistent tone, forgettable characters, underwhelming fight sequences, and its reliance on fan service and nostalgia instead of telling a story. Is this finally the Street Fighter adaptation fans have been waiting for, or another example of Hollywood mistaking recognisable characters and Easter eggs for good filmmaking? Let me know what you thought of the movie in the comments! Please like and subscribe if you enjoy the content, and thank you for watching. #StreetFighter #StreetFighter2026 #MovieReview
