Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass might be one of the worst movies of 2026. It’s a loud, boring, exhausting, and incredibly confusing animated fantasy movie in which Tom and Jerry barely feel like the main characters. Directed by Zhang Gang and produced as a Chinese production by China Film Co. and Warner Bros., Forbidden Compass throws Tom and Jerry into a vast world of Chinese mythology, magical creatures, gods, dragons, spells, and endless exposition. The problem? Everything. The movie is constantly moving, constantly screaming and constantly throwing explosions, colours, music and CGI at the screen — yet somehow it feels like it lasts four hours.
