Description

On the morning of December 10th, 1988, police found a 27-year-old American mathematician naked at the base of a cliff on Sydney Harbour, his clothes folded neatly at the top with his wallet and keys sitting on them. They closed the file within days and called it suicide. His brother didn't believe it, and spent the next 32 years and 2 million dollars of his own money trying to prove otherwise. What he found wasn't one bad investigation. It was 88 of them. The confession that finally came from an 18-year-old who had been at that clifftop in 1988 fell apart twice in court before anyone was punished, and a court order still prevents Australians from reading exactly how police got him to walk them back to the scene.
