Description
This terrifying tale is one of the most chilling park ranger horror stories you'll ever hear, a true scary story that will make you think twice before venturing into the wilderness. Deep in the heart of the national park, a group of friends embarked on a hiking trip that would become a descent into madness. As they delved deeper into the forest, they began to hear their own voices from the trees, a phenomenon that marked the beginning of a real nightmare. This scary hiking story is not for the faint of heart, and it's a reminder that some places are better left unexplored. If you're a fan of horror stories, scary camping stories, and creepy stories, then this audiobook-style narration is perfect for you. So sit back, try to relax, and let the obscure nights draw you in, but be warned, this horror story may keep you up all night. With its blend of wilderness horror stories, appalachian horror stories, and forest encounters, this scary story is sure to send chills down your spine. So if you're looking for horror stories to sleep to, or just a good horror podcast to pass the time, then this narration is sure to deliver. But be careful, for in the still of the night, the lines between reality and nightmare can become blurred, and the horror stories that you hear may just become all too real.
Account 1 — Dolly Sods Wilderness, West Virginia: A former fire crew hiker hears dispatch working an injured hiker with his name, 9 miles away on a trail he's never walked. They play back the emergency transmission — it's his voice, surname pronounced right. He radios I'm not there. Dispatch answers: We know. They hold him in place while every asset goes to the other location. Then his own voice comes back: They're not going to find me here. He hears it twice — once on radio, once 400 yards up the trail. He goes off-trail into bog and breaks two metacarpals and his scaphoid. Case closed at 11PM as Subject located, uninjured. He was in a bog at 11PM. Nobody located him.
Account 2 — Linville Gorge Wilderness, North Carolina: A hiker stops at a storm closure gate at 11AM and hears his own voice from inside: I'm over here. The closure notice lists him as reporting party at 8:14 AM — he was asleep 90 miles away. Ranger log says he was warned at 8:40 AM and acknowledged. While arguing on the phone, his voice corrects him from 200 yards inside — the ranger hears it too. Forced to exit through the closed section, he tears his ACL and meniscus. Log says he exited at 14:20. He exited at 10:02.
Account 3 — Big South Fork, Tennessee: A hiker walks out of a quiet weekend to find a ranger with an incident report in his name — clothing, plate, and a 31-second statement in his own voice describing being followed for 2 hours. None of it happened. Report filed Saturday at 3:40PM while he has a timestamped photo 10 miles north. That night: automated update SUBJECT HAS RETURNED TO LOCATION. He calls back — his own voice answers live: I'm here. Case closed: Subject accounted for. Subject remains on site.
