Description
Every time I visit Nonna Maria, I come home with more than just a recipe.
At 94 years old, she still prepares this simple breakfast the same way she has for decades. But what makes it so special isn't just the ingredients—it's what happens afterward.
With one simple preparation, she creates three completely different breakfasts over three days. It's one of the smartest meal-prep ideas I've ever seen, and it completely changed the way I think about breakfast.
Along the way, she also introduced me to two ingredients I had never used before.Today, both have become regular parts of my kitchen.
This recipe is naturally simple, incredibly satisfying, perfect for meal prep, and inspired by the traditional food culture of a small Sicilian village known for its unusually high number of centenarians.
Whether you enjoy it warm and creamy, golden and crispy, or as crunchy breakfast bites, I hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me.
