Description

Songwriters Billy Stritch and Sandy Knox composed Does He Love You in 1982 in Houston, Texas, designing it as a dramatic showcase for the two female singers in their vocal trio, Montgomery, Plant and Stritch. Over the next decade, the song was pitched to major performers including country star Barbara Mandrell and Broadway legend Liza Minnelli without landing a major release. After Knox sent the decade-old demo to Reba McEntire in 1993, it became a five-times platinum anchor for Greatest Hits Volume Two, and Minnelli eventually recorded her own version with Donna Summer in 1996.
