New 2027 BMW iX4 Stylish Electric Coupe SUV

BMW is expanding its next-generation electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the 2027 BMW iX4, a new battery-electric crossover that brings the brand’s distinctive Sports Activity Coupe design into the Neue Klasse era. Positioned above the iX3 in terms of style and performance, the iX4 combines a sporty fastback profile with advanced electric technology and long-distance driving capability. The 2027 BMW iX4 50 xDrive starts at $67,695, making it around $4,845 more expensive than the equivalent iX3. The additional cost reflects the iX4’s more dramatic body design, upgraded styling and premium positioning. The iX4 follows BMW’s latest Neue Klasse design philosophy while adopting a more dynamic silhouette than the conventional iX3. A long wheelbase, short overhangs and a sharply sloping roofline give the electric crossover its distinctive coupe-SUV appearance. At the front, BMW’s latest kidney grille is combined with the twin headlight elements into a unified visual design. The rear receives slim horizontal LED taillights, sculpted bodywork and a prominent spoiler, emphasizing the vehicle’s sporty character. The range-topping iX4 M60 xDrive adds several M-specific styling features. These include M Yellow Lights, a dedicated rear spoiler, black Shadowline exterior trim and larger 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the iX4 adopts BMW’s minimalist Neue Klasse interior philosophy. The centerpiece is the Panoramic iDrive system, which integrates BMW Panoramic Vision with a 3D Head-Up Display and a large 17.9-inch central touchscreen. A new-generation sports steering wheel further enhances the driver-focused cabin. BMW also equips the iX4 with BMW Operating System X, My Modes and BMW Digital Premium, providing a wide range of connected and digital functions. The standard iX4 comes with electrically adjustable front seats with memory functionality, along with a seven-speaker, 205-watt Hi-Fi audio system. The M60 xDrive receives a more performance-oriented cabin with M Sport seats featuring 10-way electric adjustment. It also upgrades the audio system to a 13-speaker, 430-watt Harman Kardon setup with Dolby Atmos. M-specific displays, including a dedicated Powermeter, further distinguish the performance version. Both versions of the iX4 use a dual-motor xDrive all-wheel-drive system combined with a large 112-kWh battery pack. However, the two variants offer significantly different levels of performance. The iX4 50 xDrive produces a combined 463 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. BMW estimates a 0–60 mph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds, while its electronically limited top speed is rated at 130 mph. The more powerful iX4 M60 xDrive delivers an impressive 603 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0–62 mph in just 3.9 seconds, while its top speed increases to 149 mph. Both iX4 variants benefit from an 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing them to take advantage of high-speed DC charging at rates of up to 400 kW. Under ideal charging conditions, the battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 21 minutes. BMW also estimates that a 10-minute charging session can add up to 184 miles of driving range, making the iX4 suitable for longer journeys with shorter charging stops. The iX4 50 xDrive is expected to achieve an EPA-estimated range of up to 428 miles on a full charge.
