New 2026 Honda City RS Facelift Subcompact Hatchback

The new design conveys a sense of greater size, sophistication, and sportiness to the two available body styles: Sedan and Hatchback. The new global RS line, with its sporty visual treatment, The engine that equips the City Family remains the 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder, flex-fuel engine, with aluminum cylinder head, block and crankcase, direct injection and double overhead camshaft, which preserves the qualities that have made it famous among the specialized press and users: linear delivery of power and torque, excellent performance-to-fuel consumption ratio, and extreme reliability. Taking the City Sedan as an example, according to the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV), with ethanol it achieves 9.1 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l on the highway, respectively – with gasoline, it achieves 12.9 km/l and 15.3 km/l. The engine features the exclusive i-VTEC system, which alters the amplitude and duration of the intake valve opening, and the VTC – Variable Timing Control system, which advances or retards the timing of the intake camshaft. Together, these technologies optimize engine operation, delivering better performance and significant fuel economy. The declared maximum power is 126 hp at 6,200 rpm, whether with ethanol or gasoline. The maximum torque is 15.8 kgfm at 4,600 rpm (ethanol) and 15.5 kgfm at 4,600 rpm (gasoline). The CVT transmission offers Step-shift and EDDB (Early Down-shift During Braking) systems. The City Hatchback RS, in turn, has a very different rear bumper design compared to other Hatchback versions, especially in the lower central part, resulting in a tripartite visual appearance. In profile, the highlight of the 2027 line is the wheels. In the versions with alloy wheels, what varies is the finish, as they are all aluminum, 16” rim with a diamond-cut face and internal paint: gray for EX and EXL, black on the Touring and black with darkened varnish on the RS. In the top-of-the-line Touring and RS versions, the new 10-inch multimedia center stands out not only for its size but also for its versatility. Touch-sensitive, it's a multitouch type, accepting special commands by detecting the simultaneous contact of two or four fingers. With two fingers and upward or downward movements, it increases or decreases the volume. Sideways swipes to advance or rewind a radio station or music track. With four fingers, it activates or deactivates the multimedia's mute function, which remains compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior changes go even further, with (depending on the version) new decorative trim on the dashboard in front of the front passenger and new graphics on the instrument panel. The cabin of the debuting City Hatchback RS is exclusive. The roof is black and the stitching on the interior trim is red, while the pedals are made of aluminum – all to reinforce the sporty feel.
