We’re in Our 50s… Why We’re No Longer Keeping Up with the Joneses

In our 50s, we’ve started looking at life a little differently. For years, we worked hard, chased success, bought the things we thought we were supposed to have, and—without even realizing it—found ourselves trying to keep up with the Joneses. Some painful lessons along the way changed the way we look at all of it. Today, we still work hard. We still like nice things. But success means something very different to us now. It’s about peace. Time together. Our animals. Our family. Quiet mornings. And building a life that actually feels like ours. Because the older we get, the more we realize there’s one thing we can never get back: time.
