CALIFORNIA 1991 Cold Case Solved After 35 Years — He Was Living Under a Fake Name

On a Monday afternoon in November 1991, a man walked into his sister-in-law's house in Granite Bay, California, and found his 11-month-old daughter still strapped in a highchair, crying. His wife's shoes were by the door. Her coat was on a chair. The car was in the driveway. She had been gone for hours. Her body was found three weeks later in the woods 35 miles away. The man who took her had been paroled ten months earlier despite the state's own psychiatrists declaring him untreatable and a continuing danger. In 2002 he was booked into the same county as the open murder file and walked out the front door. He dropped his name entirely in 2005, moved to Arizona, and lived in the desert for 21 years under a fake identity with a go-bag packed and a loaded firearm in every room. The last piece of evidence in the storage box finally named him in 2026. He was standing on his own driveway when they pulled up.
