Description
This crispy air fryer chicken burger is wrapped in puff pastry instead of a regular bun. Inside, it’s filled with cheddar, a tangy homemade sauce, juicy chicken, red onion and tomato.
Ingredients
🍗 2 chicken burger patties
🥐 Puff pastry
🧀 Cheddar cheese
🥛 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt
🍅 50 g (1.8 oz) ketchup
🌭 30 g (1.1 oz) mustard
🥒 20 g (0.7 oz) capers
🥒 60 g (2.1 oz) pickles
🫒 35 g (1.2 oz) olives
🌿 30 g (1.1 oz) French mustard
🧀 50 g (1.8 oz) Parmesan
🧄 20 g (0.7 oz) dried garlic
🌶️ Black pepper
🧅 Red onion
🍅 Tomato
🌾 Sesame seeds
🫒 Oil
🧂 Salt
Recipe
Line the air fryer tray with parchment paper and lightly spray it with oil.
Place 2 chicken burger patties on the parchment. Drizzle with a little oil, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 10 minutes at 205°C / 400°F.
Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Mix 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt, 50 g ketchup, 30 g mustard, 20 g finely chopped capers, 60 g chopped pickles, 35 g chopped olives, 30 g French mustard, 50 g grated Parmesan, black pepper and 20 g dried garlic.
Lay out the puff pastry and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top.
Spread some of the sauce over the cheese, then place one cooked chicken patty on top.
Add a little more sauce, followed by a couple of slices of red onion and tomato.
Cover with another piece of puff pastry and seal it to form a closed burger.
Place the burgers in the air fryer basket, lightly drizzle with oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Cook for 15 minutes at 180°C / 350°F.
Serve hot. The outside should be crispy and flaky, while the inside stays juicy and full of sauce and melted cheese.
