Canadian Airlines Are Learning They Don't Need America

Canadians are still avoiding travel to the United States, and now our own airlines are starting to adjust to a reality that I don't think anybody expected this quickly. In today's video, YULSPOTTER, who works in the Canadian aviation industry, joins me to explain what is happening behind the scenes with Air Canada and the rest of Canada's major airlines. We look at the rising costs facing Canadian carriers, the routes Air Canada has suspended, and the much bigger change happening as Canadian demand for US travel continues to fall. According to the information YULSPOTTER found, Air Canada has seen a significant drop in Canadian travel to the United States and is increasingly moving aircraft toward destinations elsewhere in the world. Instead of flying empty planes to places Canadians no longer want to visit, Air Canada is expanding its international network and giving Canadians more choices outside America. For me, that might be the most interesting part of the US Tourism Decline. The Canadian boycott of US travel isn't just showing up at border crossings anymore. It is starting to influence where Canadian airlines put their aircraft and where Canadians spend their travel money.
