America, Keep Your Black Hawks. Canada Has Other Countries to Buy From

Canada has quietly paused its planned purchase of 16 American Black Hawk helicopters, and I have to say, I'm pretty damn happy about it. According to CBC News, the Canadian government put the deal on hold amid the ongoing Canada US trade war and political tensions with the Trump administration. The helicopters were intended for Canadian special operations forces, and while there are legitimate military reasons for choosing the Black Hawk, I think we're missing a much bigger issue here. Why should Canada continue buying billions of dollars in American military equipment from a country whose president keeps threatening our sovereignty and talking about making us the 51st state? I mean, there are other countries that manufacture military helicopters, and it's about time Canada started seriously considering them. In today's video, I look at the paused Black Hawk purchase, Canada's military dependence on the United States, the ongoing review of the F35 fighter jet order, and why I believe trust should matter just as much as military specifications.
