Canadian Veterans Are Absolutely Disgusted With America's Military Insults

I came across a Guardian article about Canadian veterans who are absolutely furious with Donald Trump and members of his administration for disrespecting the Canadian Armed Forces. And after reading what these soldiers had to say, I don't blame them one bit. More than 40,000 Canadians served in Afghanistan, and 158 Canadian soldiers lost their lives. They fought alongside American troops, put their lives on the line, and helped the United States after 9/11. Yet here we are in 2026, listening to Donald Trump, JD Vance, Sean Duffy and Pete Hegseth belittle Canada's military and the sacrifices our soldiers made. What really pissed me off about this article wasn't just the insults. It was hearing from the Canadian veterans themselves, including soldiers who fought on the front lines in Afghanistan, and from families who lost loved ones. These people have every right to be angry, especially when some are now questioning whether they would ever fight alongside the United States again. I've talked about Canada US relations and the damage being done to the Canada US relationship many times on this channel, but this one hits differently. When Canadian veterans are talking about betrayal, lost trust and disrespect for the dead, we're dealing with something far more serious than the usual political garbage coming out of Washington. To every Canadian veteran and every family who lost someone serving our country, thank you for your service.
