Description

Well, this is interesting. Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers previously backed Trump's tariffs against Canada and criticised us as a trading partner. Now that the US midterm elections are getting closer, he's suddenly telling everyone that Canada is not the enemy and the tariff war needs to end. Funny how that works, eh? In today's video, I look at Rogers' rather convenient change of heart, his latest campaign advertisement featuring a Canadian beer, and what he was saying about Canada before this sudden change in attitude. As Canada US relations continue to deteriorate, I'm getting pretty tired of politicians using our country as a political prop whenever it suits them. This is about more than Trump Canada tariffs. It's about how much the Canada US relationship has changed and whether we can trust what these politicians are telling us. I also take a look at Canada's new foreign influence registry, which has managed just two public registrations with another 30 being processed at the time of the report. With questions surrounding Alberta separatists and their meetings with US officials, I'm wondering what this registry is actually supposed to accomplish if those earlier meetings don't fall under its requirements. As Canadians, we have every right to question what's happening on both sides of the border, including what our own government is doing to protect our sovereignty. ----------------------------------- How To Support The Guard The Leaf Channel Buy Me A Coffee https://buymeacoffee.com/guardtheleaf Guard The Leaf Substack https://guardtheleaf.substack.com/ Guard The Leaf Merch Store https://shop.guardtheleaf.com ----------------------------------- e-7531 (Foreign affairs) https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7531 Michigan's Republican Senate candidate turns against Trump on Canadian tariffs | Hanomansing Live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjRlDNOEFIM Canada’s new foreign agent database registration numbers much lower than anticipated https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2ZmHkOQBQc GTL Community Photo Map https://google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1RY_LT1cX8-QSl8LpEoCHhj1MgPjexgk&usp=sharing Proton Email Referral Link https://pr.tn/ref/4Z7GCXPE Guard The Leaf Social Links: Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/guardtheleaf.bsky.social Substack: https://guardtheleaf.substack.com/ Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/GuardTheLeaf/ Hey.Cafe: https://hey.cafe/r/guardtheleaf Discord: https://discord.gg/MuCCQnUQ7u 00:00 Intro 03:57 Mike Rogers Uses Canada For Personal Gain 10:13 Canada's Foreign Influence Registry Fail? 15:42 GTL Community Photo
