Description

Canada has somehow become a talking point in another American election, and I'm getting pretty tired of it. According to a new CBC report, Canadians are still avoiding Las Vegas, visitor numbers continue to fall, and now Nevada politicians are using the decline in Canadian tourism as an issue in the upcoming midterm elections. I've spent more time and money in Las Vegas than I probably should have over the years, so this one is a little personal for me. I used to jump at the chance to get a complimentary hotel room, head down for a few days, play some golf and enjoy myself. These days, those casino offers go straight into the delete folder. What bothers me isn't that American politicians are finally acknowledging the Canadian boycott of US travel. It's that they seem more concerned about losing our money than addressing the disrespect towards Canada, including Trump's repeated 51st state threats and attacks on our sovereignty. In today's video, we're looking at the latest Las Vegas tourism numbers, what casino executives and hospitality workers are saying, and how the changing Canada US relationship has somehow become part of an American election campaign. The US Tourism Decline is becoming harder to ignore, but this was never just about hotel rooms, casino profits or tariffs. Canadians have been making that pretty clear for a long time now. I'd especially like to hear from Canadians who used to visit Las Vegas regularly. Are you still getting those complimentary hotel offers, and have you given any thought to going back? ----------------------------------- How To Support The Guard The Leaf Channel Buy Me A Coffee https://buymeacoffee.com/guardtheleaf Guard The Leaf Substack https://guardtheleaf.substack.com/ Guard The Leaf Merch Store https://shop.guardtheleaf.com ----------------------------------- e-7531 (Foreign affairs) https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7531 Canadians are still boycotting Las Vegas.
