Description

Captured during Jerry Jeff Walker's 1973 live recording sessions in Luckenbach, Texas, London Homesick Blues achieved cultural immortality four years later when public television producers selected it as the primary theme for the nationally syndicated performance series Austin City Limits. Running continuously from the program's third season in 1977 through 2004, Nunn's triumphant vocal delivery of the armadillo refrain served as the weekly sonic signature for American roots and progressive country music. The enduring television exposure converted an obscure expat lament into the defining cultural postcard of the progressive Austin music scene.
