So Apparently Canada Is The Security Threat Now

The Canada US relationship keeps getting stranger, and now the border itself could be about to become even more uncomfortable for Canadians. US Border Czar Tom Homan says the administration plans to put more attention and resources on the northern border, calling it a security vulnerability. That could mean tougher US border checks for Canadians at a time when Canada US border tensions are already making some Canadians think twice about crossing into the United States. And this isn't only about what might happen in the future. I also found a recent story from a Canadian family whose father and son were driving from Calgary to Toronto through the United States. They say they were sent to secondary screening, had their phones taken, spent the night at the border and were finally released back into Canada after about 20 hours without being told why they had been denied entry. In this video I talk about what these tougher border measures could mean, Canadian secondary screening at the US border, why Canadians may want to reconsider using the United States as a shortcut between Canadian destinations, and how much the Canada US relationship has changed.
