Description

On a September evening in 1984, a sixteen-year-old girl made a phone call from a payphone outside a convenience store in League City, Texas, and started the half-mile walk home. She never arrived. The same payphone had been used by another woman who vanished eleven months earlier. Their bodies were found in the same field, sixty feet apart. Two more women turned up there. For forty-two years, the father of one victim worked the case himself, founded a search organization that recovered hundreds of missing people, and kept meeting with a man he thought was a witness. The man had helped put his daughter in that field.
